Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performing mental health assessments of referred clients: interviewing clients and significant individuals and collateral contacts.
- Assessing clients' needs and developing appropriate goals for services.
- Providing individual and group psychotherapy.
- Participating in supervision, team meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Collaboration with other social service agencies, schools, hospitals, courts, probation, corrections, and public mental health organizations to make referrals or obtain case-related information.
- Collaboration with caseworkers assigned to client or client's family to discuss progress of client and obtain case related information.
- Maintaining supportive documentation of case file, including written reports, case-notes and other paperwork related to the case within established time frames.
- Learning new knowledge through participation in facility sponsored training and supervision.

Qualifications
Special Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Is open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and is willing and competent to work with a diverse client population.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to special populations and ability to interface with the community
- Culturally competent
- Ability to learn and use crisis prevention and behavioral management techniques that may include restraining clients.
- Understands trauma-informed practice
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and a part of a high functioning team.
- Experience and ability to use computers for data entry, communication and report writing
