Company Overview

Hoook is an early-stage venture discovery and collaboration platform built for people who are actively building. Instead of ideas being scattered across Reddit threads, DMs, and social media posts, Hoook gives every venture — even at the idea or “starting” stage — a living digital profile that evolves as the project grows.

Think of it like a cross between a Google Business Profile for ventures, a Git Hub for progress, and a social layer for collaboration. Ventures on Hoook are discoverable by stage, category, location, and needs, making it easier to find projects to join, collaborators to work with, and momentum to build — all in one place.

Hoook is currently live with an MVP and is built with Svelte Kit, Supabase, and Vercel. The vision is ambitious, but the focus is sharp: build a simple, elegant system that rewards real progress over hype.

This is a full-time remote role for a Founding Engineer / Technical Cofounder at Hoook Inc.

You will take ownership of building, refining, and scaling Hoook’s core product alongside the founder. This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants to shape both the technology and the product itself, not just execute tickets.

• Designing and building full-stack features across the product
• Owning and improving the existing codebase and system architecture
• Making technical and product decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability
• Collaborating closely on product vision, UX flows, and roadmap decisions
• Identifying technical gaps, simplifying systems, and removing unnecessary complexity
• Ensuring performance, reliability, and clean developer experience as the platform grows

• Strong experience in Full‑Stack Development (frontend + backend)
• Solid understanding of modern web frameworks (experience with Svelte Kit is a big plus)
• Proficiency in JavaScript / Type Script (Python or other backend languages a plus)
• Experience working with databases (SQL required; Supabase/Postgres experience ideal)
• Familiarity with APIs, auth systems, and third‑party integrations
• Comfortable using Git and modern version control workflows
• Strong UI/UX instincts – you care deeply about product feel, clarity, and usability
• Ability to think like a product builder, not just an engineer

• Experience with Supabase, Vercel, or similar serverless/cloud infrastructure
• Understanding of Dev Ops basics, deployment pipelines, and scalability patterns
• Previous startup or early‑stage product experience
• Strong system‑design thinking without over‑engineering
Interest in venture ecosystems, startups, or creator‑led products

• Highly collaborative and comfortable working in a small, fast‑moving team
• Strong communicator who can translate technical ideas into product decisions
• Self‑directed, curious, and opinionated (in a good way)
