Streetlight Bucket Operator performs work from aerial devices and ladders to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment. Working hours typically a 10‑hour day.

• Operate various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come‑alongs, handling, etc.).
• Clear work area and maintain safe jobsite conditions; assist with work and material assembly from the ground.
• Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cables as required by contract specification.
• Communicate with public and private property owners regarding the work to be performed.
• Be exposed to traffic and may be required to have training on traffic flagging.
• Perform all other duties as required or requested by supervisors.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Able to:
  • Meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket trucks as identified by the manufacturer.
  • Work long hours and overtime, emergencies, weekends, etc.; subject to call‑out work.
  • Work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
  • Work efficiently and effectively while working at heights.
  • Safely enter and exit the aerial device and rear end of the bucket and derrick trucks.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• CDL preferred.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card required.

Must be willing to travel out of town/state for regular/emergency storm work.

• RARE: (less than 10%) – Sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs.
• OCCASIONAL: (up to 33%) – Stooping, squatting, climbing on/off truck, climbing ladders, pushing, reading, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• FREQUENT: (up to 66%) – Carrying, pulling, balancing, body‑twisting, hearing/speech range, lifting (up to 10 lbs.), manual dexterity, speaking clearly, walking.
• CONTINUOUS: (up to 100%) – Standing, sense of touch, gripping, seeing, reaching, range of motion, depth perception, lifting over 10–50 lbs., climbing.
