Overview

We are hiring immediately for a CAPTAIN, CATERING (FULL TIME) position.

Pacific University, 2043 College Way, Forest Grove, OR 97116.

Schedule:

Full Time;
Shifts vary with events on campus, typically includes weekends. More details in interview.

Pay Range: $22.00 per hour.

Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.

• Coordinate catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion.
• Prepare and serve food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director.
• May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.
• Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements; address last-minute changes and resolve problems.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items.
• Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions.
• Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications and assemble/deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
• Serve food and beverages to guests and return serving equipment to the catering facility.
• Maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.
• Prior experience in serving, catering, supervisory and/or Captain roles is preferred; administrative experience is a plus.
