Underground Utility Locator

Salary: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 10 hour shift, Monday to Friday, on call, overtime

Location: Multiple locations

• Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
• Utilize provided mapping tools and locating equipment to find underground utilities such as electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Indicate utility locations using paint, flags, and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel and other authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs per the established rotation schedule.

• Computer skills
• Valid driver’s license in applicable state of employment
• Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule
• Subject to Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and pre‑employment drug screening
• Self‑management and timely communication with supervisors and clients

• Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area.
• Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times per day.
• Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
• Sit for long periods while driving.
• Lift or move 50 to 150 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• High school or equivalent (Required)

• Driver’s License (Required)
