Position Overview

This position reports to the Sr Manager – Inside Sales. Primary responsibility includes selling all Mercury products, generating interest in and closing programs & promotions and providing world class customer service to Mercury Dealers in the United States in a results-driven team environment. The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented, and believe in achieving sales goals through strong collaboration with co-workers, field sales managers, and other internal stakeholders.

The position also includes working directly with dealers on order processing, product inquiries, and process and procedure communication. Problem solving and the ability to make decisions within policies and procedures is required. The zone sales account representative will build direct relationships with dealers, leverage tools and resources, maximize opportunities, and close sales gaps within the assigned territories. This is a position that must be success-driven, able to multi-task, and work well in a diverse team while thriving in a dynamic and changing environment.

Functions
  • Contact customers through phone calls and email to communicate programs and policies that lead to sales.
  • Build relationships with customers and promote sales of all Mercury products through execution of sales programs and services.
  • Upsell and cross-sell, suggesting product substitutes.
  • Use  or another CRM tool daily to document and facilitate multiple aspects of the sales cycle.
  • Monitor and learn marine market area information (products sold, competition, boat brands in the market, etc.).
  • Support retail sales activities to achieve maximum sales and market share.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers, Regional Business Directors, and cross‑functional departments such as credit, supply chain, and distribution.
Required Qualifications
  • 2 years of relevant sales and customer service experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional phone presence and excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, prioritize work, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including order entry systems, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to proactively plan calls, manage a pipeline, and execute on sales goals.
  • Ability to quickly learn, articulate, and position sales programs and Mercury product offerings.
  • Demonstrated accountability, including taking ownership of results, following through on commitments, and maintaining high work standards.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships, understanding customer needs and collaborating on mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Effective sales and influence skills, using appropriate communication styles to gain acceptance of products, services, or ideas.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration, contributing positively to group decision‑making and maintaining a respectful and supportive environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally, using appropriate interpersonal techniques to reduce tension and resolve issues.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $54,300 - $75,400 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
