Position OverviewSpark Ops Metalworks specializes in innovative metal fabrication and modular structural solutions designed for strength, flexibility, and precision. Our modular systems offer high-performance versatility for applications across multiple industries, including entertainment, aerospace, and industrial maintenance. We are seeking a driven, knowledgeable, and relationship-focused Sales Representative to expand our market presence and lead new business development efforts in key sectors.
Spark Ops Metalworks, as a certified WOSB/MBE/DBE manufacturer of innovative modular platform and truss systems (US Patent #), seeks an experienced National Sales Representative to drive sales in key growth sectors the company has identified. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of structural systems, proven experience in B2B or industrial sales, and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles involving engineering teams and procurement processes.
This role will be personally responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for our modular structural systems and components in three key business sectors:
- the entertainment industry sector - which includes staging and rigging structures;
- the aerospace & shipbuilding sectors - which include maintenance & repair
- platforms, mezzanines & step systems, and individual truss component sales;
- and all government sectors - where our modular systems offer a business
Additionally, the role will focus on selling our innovative product competitive advantages and the major benefits our structural solutions can offer potential clients and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Take the lead on the development of a B2B Sales Strategy Plan for
- implementation by the company and provide accurate forecasting for market
- segments directly related to the sale position.
- Provide sales leadership essentials for an era of rapidly advancing AI & digital
- technology.
- Become proficient at conducting technical presentations demonstrating the
- benefits and advantages of our Modular Solutions.
- Build relationships with C-suite executives, facility managers, and
- maintenance directors at public & private companies, municipalities, and
- certified facilities.
- Analyze customer workflows to identify opportunities for modular solutions;
- creating a value-added opportunity for the client.
- Independently negotiate complex contracts ranging from $150K to $500K with
- multi-year service agreement while at the same time utilizing ownership to help
- strategize contacts in excess of $500K.
- Collaborate with the management & engineering team at Spark Ops to deliver
- customized solutions when a specific client need has been identified.
- Collaborating with ownership on the Consultative Sales and CRM approaches
- philosophies used by Spark Ops.
- Proven sales record within complex products (related to steel or aluminum business preferred but not required), or related technical product field experience;
- Proven background collaborating with engineering (or equivalent experience);
- 3-5 years B2B technical sales experience or equivalent, with proven travel history in past positions;
- Impressive understanding of regulations, OSHA safety standards, and quality requirements in past job history;
- Experience selling to deal sizes easily exceeding $100K+ per individual order;
- Strong analytical skills across different software environments with Microsoft necessary;
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand modular specific specifications;
- Willingness to travel to prospect accounts and client accounts on a regular basis, including trade shows etc.
- Experience selling to industries similar or same as airlines, MRO facilities, or military/defense contractors;
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes and ground support equipment
- Understanding of government contracting and/or similar complex procurement processes with various industries;
- Diversity experience with an emphasis on B2B programs and grants; and
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is not required, but similar skill set is preferred.
- Base salary with heavy commission Structure;
- Industry commission structure anticipated at $130,000-$180,000.
