Overview
The Cardiac Med Surg unit is located on the 6 South wing of the hospital. This 19 bed unit is part of a fast paced and very progressive cardiovascular service line. We are seeking compassionate individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and are ready to be a part of a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.

This full time position will include every third weekend and a holiday rotation.

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities and Requirements Primary Responsibilities- Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for the patient, family, and significant other(s) by evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Establishes effective relationships and serves as an advocate with the patient, family, and significant other(s) to facilitate the development of the care plan
- Uses the nursing process to develop and implement the plan of care, collect assessment data, determine nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Develops assessment and management strategies considering physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the impact of illness on each patient’s status and needs.
- Coordinates and collaborates with patient, family, significant other(s), communities, and inter-professional team to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
- Communicates with patient, family, and health care providers to support culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic and humane care within available resources.
- Educates the patient, family, and significant other(s) about measures that promote, maintain, and restore health or comfort.
- Fosters a healthy work environment and mentors nursing colleagues, students, and others.
- Applies evidence-based practice to medical-surgical nursing care, aligned with patient age-specific and department scope requirements.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety in practice.
- May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
