Medical Surgical Nurse – PRN

Location: WI‑St. Agnes Hospital – 5 West wing, 20 beds + 5 rehab unit.

Schedule: PRN, minimum 2 shifts/month, including 1 weekend and 1 holiday/year.
Pay: $8.75/hour differential plus base pay.

Job Summary: Provide direct nursing care in the Neuro Med Surg unit, delivering compassionate, high-quality care for neurological, neuro‑psych, general medical/surgical, and chronic heart failure patients.

• Use medical‑surgical nursing standards to increase patient quality of life.
• Establish effective relationships, serve as advocate, and facilitate individualized care plans.
• Apply the nursing process to assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care outcomes.
• Develop assessment and management strategies across physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, development, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions.
• Lead coordination with inter‑professional team to plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Communicate collaboratively with patients, families, and health care providers, ensuring culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, informed, compassionate, humane care within resource boundaries.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
• Mentor and model professional nursing behavior in practice setting.
• Apply evidence‑based practice to patient‑specific clinical needs per service scope.
• Maintain constant state of alertness; perform point‑of‑care testing per policies; perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or education equivalency for licensing.
• No prior experience required.
• Physical: ability to stand, walk, lift ≤25 lb frequently, use vision/hearing/smell, and perform occasional patient handling.
• State licensure: RN required in applicable state (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin). Basic Life Support (BLS) HCP certification mandatory.
