Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and has grown into the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwestacción. The company employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses and operates a fleet of more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. In addition to ground transport, the company provides critical‑care, helicopter, and fixed‑wing emergency medical transportation.
EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations.
Responsibilities- Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in training as an EMT.
- Ensure safe and expedient transportation by accurately navigating street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
- Assess patient condition and convey it accurately to other medical professionals.
- Provide written reports describing patient condition, medical history, and treatment.
- Maintain documentation for billing information.
- Keep the vehicle clean and monitor all fluid levels and gauges.
- EMT National Registry and/or current state license (or pending).
- Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to operate a vehicle in various conditions.
- Pass a pre‑employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
- Attend company‑provided training and driving courses.
