Job Title: Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) – Consumer Lending Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (Branch-based with community and field engagement)

Saige Partners is partnering with a well-established financial institution seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) to support the growth of its consumer mortgage presence in the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin market.

This role is ideal for a driven lending professional with an established local network, strong business development skills, and a proven ability to generate mortgage loan volume through relationship-building and community engagement.

This is a field-focused position that blends branch presence with active networking. The Mortgage Loan Officer will operate with autonomy while leveraging the referrals, infrastructure, and operational support of a respected financial organization. The ideal candidate brings an entrepreneurial mindset and thrives in a production-based, relationship-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, and community partners to generate mortgage referrals
  • Actively network within the local market, including attending events, hosting meetings, and participating in open houses
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of residential mortgage opportunities through self-generated and internally referred leads
  • Promote mortgage products and services to establish and grow market presence
  • Collaborate with branch staff, commercial lenders, and internal teams to maximize cross-referral opportunities
Loan Origination & Client Support
  • Originate consumer mortgage loans, including purchase and refinance transactions
  • Guide borrowers through the mortgage process from application through closing
  • Educate clients on available mortgage products and recommend solutions aligned with their financial goals
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and responsiveness throughout the lending lifecycle
Market Growth & Strategic Contribution
  • Support the expansion of the organization’s consumer mortgage footprint in Fond du Lac and surrounding markets
  • Build long-term relationships that contribute to sustained loan production
  • Maintain awareness of local housing trends, market conditions, and the competitive landscape
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer, Mortgage Lender, or in a similar mortgage origination role
  • Demonstrated ability to self-source business through networking and relationship development
  • Strong sales acumen with a history of meeting or exceeding production goals
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently
  • Solid knowledge of mortgage lending products, guidelines, and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Established network of local real estate professionals and referral partners
  • Prior lending experience within Fond du Lac or surrounding Wisconsin markets
  • Background in consumer lending, banking, or financial services
  • Existing pipeline or book of business
  • Experience collaborating with commercial lenders or cross-functional banking teams
Additional Considerations
  • Candidates located within approximately 30–45 minutes of Fond du Lac are preferred; flexibility may be considered for highly qualified candidates with strong local market connections
  • Professionals transitioning from related banking or lending roles (e.g., personal banker or consumer lender) may be considered if they demonstrate strong sales ability and readiness to originate mortgages
  • Branch-based with significant time spent networking and meeting clients in the community
  • Flexible schedule driven by business development activities, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Success in this role is driven by relationship-building, initiative, and production
