Position Summary
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time EMS Instructor on our Fond du Lac Campus. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.
The successful candidate will have an Associate degree in a related field, or willing to obtain an Associate Degree from an accredited program. Progress toward an Associate Degree will be measured through the successful completion of a minimum of three (3) credits of coursework annually, beginning with the third year of employment. The candidate must have two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience acquired within the past five years.
In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post‑secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered.
This position is part of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education Grant, funded by the Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee through June 30 2027, with anticipation of being funded annually thereafter.

Responsibilities- Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
- Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
- Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
- Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
- Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
- Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
- Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
- Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.
- Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
- Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.
- Assist with mentoring faculty.
- Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry. Work with the supervisor to identify alternative funding sources, as needed.
- Experience with pre-hospital emergency care.
- Must be presently licensed or eligible for licensure by Wisconsin Department of Health Services as an EMT or higher, and must hold the following
- Current license/certificate as Emergency Services Instructor II issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services-Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Section.
- Current certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at the Paramedic level.
- Current Basic Life Support Instructor certification, or willing to obtain, with the American Heart Association.
