Job SummarySr. Manager Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is critical in leading and supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems in aerospace and defense manufacturing applications.
We are on a 9/80 schedule (9‑hour days Monday–Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8‑hour days). This is a full‑time on‑site position at the Healdsburg, CA site, but for the right scenario can accommodate someone at our Folsom, CA site.

- Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and departmental plan; receives guidance from manager
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Analyzes, develops, and evaluates systems as well as improving and maintaining current systems or creating brand new projects.
- Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
- Recommends operational plans with direct impact on results.
- Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance, i.e., constructing and presenting status briefings on technical challenges.
- Works with third‑party resources, site leadership and other necessary departments to bring comprehensive solutions for operations, production, or maintenance issues related to local production or test failures.
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and verification/validation activities. Support system qualification and acceptance testing. Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, and engineering change packages. Participate in configuration management and formal change control processes.
- Required education and experience:
Associate’s Degree and 7–8 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. - Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Preferred education and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree. - Discipline/Major:
Manufacturing, Business or Engineering preferred. - Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Leadership skills; ability to foster teamwork; oral and written communication skills; ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills; technical expertise.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
