Job Summary

The Resource Tehcnician will collect mining information using various equipment and software as well as be responsible for drilling and logging.

Job Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe workplace environment following all CEMEX and MSHA Safety standards.
  • Collect survey information using GPS survey equipment and drones.
  • Conduct periodic inventory surveys of active quarries using drones and manage resulting data.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining survey and drone equipment.
  • Oversee drilling & logging of boreholes at active quarries and Greenfield sites. Manage, interpret, and communicate drill results.
  • Convert field collected survey data into AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS maps.
  • Assist Manager with any required field data collection and file management.
  • Place survey markers as directed to guide mining operations.
  • Perform other tasks as directed to fulfill mine planning requirements.
  • Measure and record data pertaining to various mine operations, such as water levels.
  • Assist in digitization and organization of historical data.
  • Assist on Resource related jobs outside your region on occasion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in geo-sciences, mining / geological engineering, or related discipline.
  • Environmental monitoring experience preferred but not required.
  • Surveying experience with GPS and/or conventional survey instruments preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Required:

    Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS and/or MS Access experience a plus
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and do physical labor.
  • Good organizational skills, and ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • A Self-motivated Team player willing to do what is necessary to get the job done!
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment, in varying weather elements, performing physical labor
  • Ability to travel overnight out-of-town stays to perform duties.
  • Ability to work extended hours when required to complete tasks.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to lift samples (up to 50lbs)

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $70304k to 97000k depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
