Field assignments generally follow a 5-day schedule with 10-hour workdays, though 6-day workweeks may occasionally be required.
Flexibility is essential, as work may sometimes be needed on weekends, holidays, or outside standard hours depending on site conditions.
This individual will be based in our Folsom office but is expected to undertake field assignments that may last several months in various regions across California, including Walnut Creek, San Jose, Half Moon Bay, Milpitas, Richmond, greater Sacramento area, and the Sierra Nevada foothills. Occasional travel to neighboring states may also be required.

* Document daily construction activities, material deliveries, contractor personnel/equipment, and site conditions using detailed field reports and photo logs.
* Perform field inspections and testing (e.g., soil compaction testing, geosynthetics verification, pipe slope checks, elevations).
* Ensure that construction materials and methods conform to project specifications, drawings, and regulatory guidelines.
* Communicate daily with site supervisors, contractors, design engineers, and project managers regarding field activities and issues.
* Report deviations or non-conformances and assist with resolution under the direction of the CQA Manager.
* Collect and label samples for lab testing as required.
* Participate in progress meetings and assist in preparing project documentation.
* Learn applicable environmental monitoring and compliance practices.
* Observe safe work practices.
Minimum Requirements:
* Two-year college degree or equivalent preferred.
* 2+ years of experience in construction or field services is preferred.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
* Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, managers, and clients.
* Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions and on active construction sites.
* Ability to work for extended periods in different regions across California
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations.
* Experience using hand and power tools and light equipment.
* Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds
* Track record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
* Able to work 10-hour days, starting at 7am and at times at 6am.
* Ability to pass client-required drug screening.
* Commitment to safe work practices including OSHA and MSHA compliance training. (provided by SLR)
