Job Description
Diesel Mechanic Technician
Duties- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, flatbed trailers, and truck mounted forklifts.
- Conduct and maintain preventive maintenance programs on the trucks, trailers and forklifts.
- Perform annual inspections on Class 8 trucks and flatbed trailers in accordance with DOT regulations, complete all required documentation and file records as required.
- Diagnose and make necessary repairs on driveline components, brake systems, suspension systems, wheels, tires, electrical and hydraulic systems on trucks, trailers and forklifts.
- Generate work orders, recording all the hours and parts used in the completion of the work performed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area and perform work in a safe, orderly manner.
- Knowledge of diesel engine rebuilding and maintenance.
- Experience with air brake components.
- Diagnose the electrical system and make necessary repairs.
- Ability to make repairs to hydraulic components.
- Knowledge of A/C systems is a big plus.
