Retail Sales Associate

Overview

Retail Sales Associate (Full Time) s role involves engaging with pet parents and their pets, providing positive experiences, ensuring store cleanliness and safety, and assisting with the care of in-store pets.

• Engage with pet parents and customers in person, over the phone, at the sales register, and online to deliver a positive experience.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and assist throughout the store.
• Prepare online orders for in-store pickup and ensure a smooth pickup experience.
• Care for store-owned pets (feeding, watering, cleaning habitats) and maintain pet safety standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist with pricing changes and promotions.
• Stage and sort new products, stock, and recover products to meet sales floor standards.
• Recommend and sell merchandise, services, and live pets; administer store-owned pet medications as directed by a veterinarian.
• Promote events such as adoption weekends and other company programs.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers; take action for sick or injured pets and coordinate veterinary transport as needed.
• Assist in various areas of the store as required and support a culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.

• Stand, walk, climb ladders; handle, feel, and use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Depth perception required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; team lifts may be required for more than 100 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to moving parts, wet environments, pet hair, and variable noise levels; exposure to live animals is common.
