Akerman seeking to fill an AI Discovery Specialist role to support the firm's national eDiscovery practice. The desired candidate will hold a JD with an active bar license in at least one US jurisdiction, and have at least five years of experience leveraging advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) technologies in the discovery process. This role collaborates closely with legal teams and eDiscovery project management to streamline discovery workflows, enhance document review efficiency, and deliver crucial insights for legal matters.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Oversee and manage technology-assisted document review, including the use of Continuous Active Learning and Generative AI.
- Promote generative AI toolkit through tailored presentations, demonstrations, and matter-specific product configurations.
- Prepare and interpret reports related to model progress, coding metrics, predictions, rank distribution, precision, recall, and allusion testing.
- Perform document review including identification and validation of training sets for Continuous Active Learning and GenAI.
- Serve as subject matter expert, consulting on the application of AI and analytics in eDiscovery and advising on best practices and technological strategies for case requirements.
- Advise on integrating AI, machine learning, and other advanced technologies, such as contract analysis and document automation, to foster efficiency and innovation in legal processes.
- Generate and interpret statistical reports and metrics in the document review process to inform decision-making and ensure defensibility.
- Stay abreast of emerging eDiscovery technologies, AI advancements, and legal precedents related to electronic discovery and data privacy.
- JD degree and active bar license in at least one US Jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing and supporting legal technologies including Technology Assisted Review and Generative AI in the eDiscovery life cycle.
- Experience managing and participating in the eDiscovery document review and production process.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills to convey complex ideas in an easy to understand manner.
- Extensive experience with Relativity, Relativity One, and DISCO.
- Ability to travel to other offices within the U.S. as needed.
- Passion for legal innovation and emerging technologies, especially as they relate to eDiscovery.
- Collaborative style with high emotional intelligence.
