Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is a 120 bed capacity behavioral health facility that provides psychiatric services. We specialize in treatment for adults, children and adolescents. Brentwood Behavioral offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Located in Flowood, MS, in Rankin County with close proximity to Hinds and Madison Counties, our outpatient services are within driving distance to many surrounding areas. We help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health, resulting in improved quality of life.

Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented ACTIVITY AIDE/COORDINATOR (PRN) for varied shifts.

• Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive recreation therapy program to meet the physical, social, cultural, and recreational needs of patients.
• Plans and organizes activity therapy, evaluates patients  abilities and behaviors, and participates in interdisciplinary treatment teams.

• Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to exhibit empathy, respect and compassion that involve understanding and care for patients.

Minimum:
High School diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience working with children/adolescents, geriatric, and/or adults with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities required. CPR and de-escalation certification required. Lifeguard certification is a bonus.

Preferred:
Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
