Rental Fleet Coordinator - PMC-Flowood

Overview

Puckett Machinery Company is the Caterpillar® heavy equipment, rental services, and power systems dealer for central and southern Mississippi. We are seeking a Rental Fleet Sales Coordinator to provide inside sales, administrative, planning, and coordination support to the rental fleet and transportation department in the areas of rental quote preparation, billing/invoicing, rental unit inventory management, and other department-related support activities and tasks.

The position will report to Rental Fleet/Transportation Manager.

• Greet, receive, and direct walk-in rental sales traffic to the branch. Receive and administer the intake of all rental equipment and transportation-related inquiries and machine availability calls from internal and external customers.
• Manage and administer the lifecycle of the rental equipment billing process and maintain regular contact with internal and external customers throughout. Therein, execute the preparation and tracking of rental quotes, orders and agreements, post credits and adjustments, coordinate customer credit approval, and perform related reporting in accordance with all prescribed company policies, procedures, and metrics.
• Administer the day-to-day inventory management of the rental fleet. Partner with the Rental Fleet Manager to actively monitor and analyze customer rental equipment demand and correspondingly prioritize the addition/transfer/removal of inventory units (both machines and attachments). Coordinate/expedite rental machine release and delivery schedules. Partner with the Used Equipment Sales Coordinator and branch Product Support Managers to review inspections of incoming rental returns to coordinate necessary pre-delivery maintenance and/or repair work with internal service department or outside vendors.
• Participate in daily meetings with the rental, used, and transportation management team to ensure that all parties are updated on work in progress, to prioritize machine demand, to plan upcoming machine delivery/returns, and to update/maintain same in the management information system. Keep all stakeholders (sales, service, customer) regularly updated on the status of rental machine availability.
• Serve as primary backup to the Sr. Rental Fleet/Transportation Coordinator in their absence.
• Serve as a backup to the Used Equipment Sales Coordinator in their absence.

• High school diploma required, plus 4-6 years dedicated experience in inside sales, logistics and/or customer service. Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree plus at least 2-3 years related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent customer relations, written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Good understanding of heavy equipment industry and related sales and credit processes and terminology.
