Offset Die Cut Operator- 2nd Shift

Fortis Solutions Group is offering an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Die Cut Operator to take the lead on our cutting-edge Bobst – one of the most advanced machines in the industry. If you’ve got a strong background in printing or packaging production, this is your chance to shine and make an impact on a high-performing team.

Join us on 2nd shift and bring your expertise to a company that values quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Candidates must be able to train for up to 30 days on first shift, before transferring to second shift, where they will work independently, supporting the production team and operators.

• Receive pallets of sheeted paper/board from the offset press or inventory.
• Inspect received pallets and verify alignment with the job order (ticket).
• Set up the machine to job specifications, including dies, counter boards, and any special instructions; verify setup before starting.
• Follow Fortis procedures for quality verifications and setup, including completing and signing off on quality checks as required.
• Utilize the company ERP system (Radius) to log jobs and progress; maintain notes for any special situations.
• Monitor the job during running to ensure proper registration and die cut alignment.
• Ensure proper location of all scores to prevent cracking or misalignment.
• Troubleshoot the machine during and after runs; coordinate with maintenance as needed to keep equipment in good working order.
• Communicate issues with cartons (over/under runs, carton quality, or ) to Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, or Scheduler.
• Participate in end-of-shift transition with the next operator, noting active issues and ensuring machine cleanliness.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and machines in accordance with Fortis policies and safety regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects as requested.
• Additional duties as required.

• HS diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of press or printing-related experience preferred
• One year of manufacturing work experience preferred

• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and understand an English job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic math
• Proactive and detail-oriented to catch problems or inconsistencies and report to management
• Team player
• Mechanical aptitude to understand equipment function and troubleshoot
• Basic computer knowledge

• Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned

• Lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, and repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening

• Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment
• Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures

• Safety shoes and protective eyewear are highly recommended in the production area
