Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

As the Maintenance Technician you are responsible for the repair and maintenance of all production equipment as well as general facility maintenance. This includes coordination and execution of preventative maintenance programs, performing troubleshooting and emergency maintenance, and project coordination for equipment and facility related initiatives. As the Maintenance Technician you will also be assigned various responsibilities within our Environmental, Health, and Safety Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiate, coordinate, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance programs on industrial, mechanical, and pneumatic machinery. Equipment maintained includes flexographic presses, rewind machines, and other production related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment malfunctions/breakdowns (including PLCs) in order to minimize downtime of machines utilizing blueprint schematics, manufacturer specifications and manuals.
  • Maintain and repair components on systems such as bearings, gear clutches, couplings, belted and shafted drives, gearboxes, and compressors, pneumatic systems, AC/DC motor chilled water systems and related controls.
  • Regularly assess all equipment and facilities and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Document required maintenance and performance of PMs and track reasons for downtime.
  • Coordinate equipment and / or facility related special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts in an organized and efficient fashion.
  • Coordinate with team regarding OSHA and building code requirements. Support the facility with regard to required safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as required.
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Some college or trade school highly desired.
  • Must have at least 2 years of work experience in equipment maintenance to include electrical experience.
  • Electrical certifications or license is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have working knowledge of PLCs and basic electrical skills.
  • Proficient with industrial, mechanical and pneumatic machinery.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, building codes, or safety practices is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow a preventative maintenance program.
  • Be safety conscious and perform all duties with the highest level of safety awareness and practice.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to follow policies and procedures (SOPs, Lock-out/Tag-out) and maintain records.
  • Able to prioritize tasks.
  • Be proactive and organized with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient utilizing various power and hand tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, including email and able to learn the companys software program in order to monitor equipment and production.
  • Relatively open availability to work a full‑time schedule covering multiple shifts of production operations as necessary Monday to Friday. Weekend and overtime work is required for special projects, downtime troubleshooting, etc.
