Seasonal Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Schedule: PRN Days 7A-7P
Pay Rate: $62/hour plus applicable differentials
Season: 9/21/25 to 4/4/26
Seasonal Program Requirements- Minimum 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
- Float to another facility within close geography as needed
- Four weekend shifts per 4‑week schedule period
- Two holiday shifts over the 32‑week period (as defined by Department Manager or designee)
- Seasonal staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; no guaranteed hours
- Not eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per PRN policy
- Not eligible for extra shift bonuses
- Registered nurses in the seasonal program have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation
- Current employees are not eligible to join the seasonal program for 2025‑26
- Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
- Shifts may vary based on department needs

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in the Pediatric Emergency Department, following state and specialty standards. The RN works collaboratively with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow‑up measures.
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support training within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric certification within 18 months of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course within 18 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree required with 12‑month enrollment and 24‑month completion.
- BCLS Instructor within 30 days of employment start date.
