Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Med/Surg (Full‑Time / Nights)
Location: Texas Health Flower Mound, 4400 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX, 75028
Work Hours: Full‑Time Nights, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, three 12‑hour shifts weekly, rotating weekends and holidays.
Medical Surgical Department Highlights:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of PCT experience in an acute setting (highly preferred)
- Valid PCT training from an accredited program (e.g., TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, community college program) – certification not required to be maintained after hire
- Valid EMT‑B or equivalent military medical training – certification not required to be maintained after hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification prior to independent patient care
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training maintained annually (within 90 days)
- Organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills suitable for a fast‑paced environment
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) provide excellent patient healthcare experience as directed by nursing staff, performing basic patient care and technical duties.
- Assist patients with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving; change linens
- Transport or transfer patients as needed
- Collect patient data, identify significant findings, and report to nurse
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- Revise activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences
- Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently
- Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk
- Enter orders into computer or manual system when applicable
- Document accurately and appropriately
- Collaborate with nurses to adapt care to patient population and incorporate cultural/religious needs and beliefs
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
- Anticipate patient/family and visitor needs and respond appropriately, including rounds
