Escrow Accountant

Job Description

We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have an Escrow Accountant opportunity with a local title company. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of escrow accounting procedures, internal controls, and reconciliation processes, along with experience supporting regulatory and underwriter audits.
Escrow Accountant is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

• Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform daily or monthly "three-way" reconciliations of escrow accounts and prepare financial reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Transaction Processing: Accurately record, deposit, and disburse funds in accordance with signed settlement statements, lender instructions, and purchase contracts.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure all transactions adhere to state regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate outstanding items, stop payments, and bank reconciliation issues.
• Collaboration: Work with escrow officers, lenders, and clients to ensure timely, smooth, and compliant closing processes.

Required qualifications for the position include
:

• 2+ years of escrow or title experience
• Knowledge of MEAPIC
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of escrow law, trust accounting, and real estate closing processes.
• Attention to Detail: High precision in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with varied stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications for the position include
:

• Bachelor's in Accounting

Pay Rate Range
: $70,000 - $90,000 for salaried positions. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
