Overview
About the position:
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eglin Outdoor Recreation. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida. Position is Flexible with no guaranteed hours but may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
- Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.
- Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.
- Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.
- May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.
- Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.
- May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area, including cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.

Requirements- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training.
- To be considered for employment at this location, the incumbent must be a U.S. Citizen or legal U.S. Resident residing in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.
- To be considered for this position, the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years and must reside in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.
