- Maintains primary electrical distribution system and equipment up to the line side of a facility's incoming service disconnect. Assists contractors when accessing manholes, identifying existing buried utilities, and performing 15KW switching functions during equipment replacements. Alters, maintains, and repairs wiring, conduits, fittings, and fixtures in the repair and renovation of buildings, including climbing as needed. Maintains oversight of projects and personnel as required.
- Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits in buildings, above and below ground. Reads and follows blueprints, oral instructions, and written repair orders.
- Performs installation and repair of electrical motors, generators, heaters, clocks, etc.
- Maintains records and timekeeping as required. Maintains tools and equipment in a safe and workmanlike manner. Performs other related duties as assigned. Drives University vehicles as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years' experience, or a relevant Technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain upon hire.

The anticipated starting salary is $45,200, commensurate with experience.

ConsiderationsThis is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
The work schedule is from 8am to 4:30pm with a 30-minute break.
The employee is required to be accessible and available to return to work during off-duty hours. Per FSU policy, Pay Additives, USPS employees are eligible to receive on-call pay, and shall be informed by the department via memorandum of the on-call assignment, except during an emergency.
