Overview
Remote Location Role | Not a Work-From-Home Position. This is a remote location position assigned to the Tallahassee area and work at customer job sites. This is not a work-from-home role. You will report daily to a Service Manager and work as part of a structured service team.
Position SummaryWiginton Fire Systems is seeking a Service Technician I to support our growing service operations in the Tallahassee area. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience in the fire sprinkler trade, preferably with a service background, who is looking to continue developing their technical skills and build a long-term career in fire protection.
As a Service Technician I, you will assist with the inspection, service, repair, and minor installation of fire sprinkler systems and related fire protection equipment. You will work alongside experienced technicians and leadership while gaining hands-on experience, increasing responsibility, and progressing professionally within the trade.
Essential Responsibilities- Perform on-site service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues and executing corrective actions
- Accurately complete service tickets, inspection reports, and documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal team members
- Follow all safety procedures, company standards, and NFPA requirements
- Support senior technicians as needed on more complex service work
- Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in the fire sprinkler trade (Service experience strongly preferred; installation experience considered)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements
- Basic understanding of fire sprinkler system components, tools, and materials
- Working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- NICET certification (any level)
- Strong interest in NICET progression and continued professional growth
- Prior experience in fire sprinkler service and inspections
This position is designed as a developmental role. Candidates must be willing to:
- Continue building technical knowledge in the fire sprinkler trade
- Pursue certifications and training opportunities, including NICET
- Grow into higher-level service technician roles over time
- Monday through Friday
- On-call rotation required
- Overtime may be required based on business needs
- Field-based role working at customer sites throughout the Tallahassee area
