Responsibilities

Performs skilled repair & maintenance services for the Florida State University Schools.

  • Responsible for maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems such as replacing light fixtures, replace/reset breakers and GFI receptacles, change light bulbs and ballasts as needed throughout the interior/exterior of the campus. Maintains and repairs scoreboard and electronic time keeping equipment. Assist in maintaining emergency power generators. Identify electrical issues requiring a contractor’s expertise.
  • Paints interior and exterior of school facilities and repairs any damage to walls, including removing graffiti, repairing holes, etc. Performs carpentry and related repairs, frames walls, and executes light construction. Repairs doors, windows, and locks. Executes plumbing repairs and maintenance including unclogging sinks, toilets, and other plumbing support as necessary. Identify mechanical or construction issues requiring a contractor’s expertise.
  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs various systems, including but not limited to all campus equipment, ice makers, intercom systems, HVAC chiller systems, irrigation systems, flooring upkeep equipment, and fire extinguishing equipment.
  • Maintains tool and equipment inventory, partnering with Facilities leadership as needed for repair or replacement.
  • Assists all FSUS personnel with moving furniture and supplies throughout campus. Delivers goods to campus personnel as needed. Supports safety and security protocols of K-12 campus environment.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience. (

    Note:

    post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
