Overview

Glaze Communications Services (GCS) is a locally owned and operated company with over 25 years of industry experience. We proudly provide telecom, data, video, and security solutions to construction, military, medical, educational, and industrial markets. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Telecommunications Lead Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies and procedures while adhering to all federal and provincial safety standards
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating in a courteous and professional manner
  • Install and service TV, phone, internet, and security systems over fiber and copper networks
  • Run and fish cables and program equipment as needed
  • Splice and repair various types and sizes of telecommunications cables, including Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic
  • Utilize testing meters and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Assist team members when required
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, services, and repairs
  • Operate all related equipment, materials, tools, and company vehicles safely and responsibly
Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for daily interaction with customers and team members
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, climbing, bending, and working in tight indoor and outdoor environments
  • Basic knowledge of computers, routers, hubs, Wi-Fi, and related software
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to safely use common hand tools and ladders
  • Previous experience with low voltage systems, electrical work, structured cabling, twisted pair, or fiber optics is considered an asset
