Join the City of Lake Alfred Utilities team! This position operates heavy equipment and performs skilled maintenance and repair work on the City’s water, sewer, and reclaimed water systems. Work includes equipment operation, system maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and service standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Operates heavy and specialized equipment, including:
- CCTV Sewer Inspection Equipment
- Skid Loader
- Boom/Crane Mounted Truck
- Vacuum Truck
- Mounted Backhoe/End Loader
- 5-yard and 10-yard Dump Trucks
Install, repair, and maintain water mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.
Perform water main flushing, pressure testing, and utility line locating.
Complete logs, reports, and maintenance records.
Perform related field and manual labor tasks.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Six (6) months of experience operating heavy equipment.
Valid Florida Class “B” CDL with hazmat endorsement required at hire.
Must maintain a reliable phone for emergency call-outs.
Outdoor work in all weather conditions; exposure to traffic, confined spaces, and noise. Requires physical strength and agility to lift 45+ lbs.
