Role Overview
Maintenance Technician in Sarasota, FL at The Collier Companies – responsible for maintaining the physical aspects of properties, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing in areas such as HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, and appliances. The position involves both scheduled maintenance and emergency on‑call response.
Responsibilities- Support the Maintenance Team in meeting established property standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
- Complete work orders efficiently, organized, and detail‑oriented.
- Participate in flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on‑call rotation.
- Deliver excellent customer service to residents.
- Preferred: at least 1 year experience as a maintenance technician.
- Universal EPA certification is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with appliances, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Strong work ethic, eager‑to‑learn attitude, and organized.
- Reliable transportation and valid in‑state driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a basic maintenance test and possess basic tools.
- Full‑time position with emergency on‑call commitment; overtime in summer/fall turn season.
