Overview
Aviation Rescue Swimmers participate in a variety of helicopter operations worldwide, including search and rescue, humanitarian aid and relief, medical evacuation and combat search and rescue. They support special warfare, air ambulance services, cargo transfer, reconnaissance operations and anti-submarine warfare. Additionally, their missions involve mine countermeasures, airborne firefighting, drug interdiction, and anti-surface warfare. Beyond these missions, AIRRs collaborate with the state Department, Coast Guard, Treasury and Customs Service as well as federal, state and local law enforcement and rescue agencies.
