Responsibilities- Serves as primary pre-award grants contact for COM FSU Health and other research faculty hires. Assists new research faculty with navigating award transfers and funding applications prior to arrival, facilitates connections to FSU and COM research support teams, coordinates direction from the FSU Office of Research, provides process guidance, and assists with research related agreement approvals.
- Provides pre-award grant administrator support for faculty, staff, postdoctoral research assistants, and students as directed, including reviewing and analyzing proposal documents for accuracy and compliance; developing budgets; assisting with interpretation of sponsor guidelines and requirements; assisting with understanding and following COM, university, and sponsor policies and procedures; and managing all RAMP activities through proposal submittal. Serves as college-level proposal development and submittal authority.
Develops and maintains effective communication and positive work relationships with COM principal investigators, COM Research Accounting, COM departmental support staff, the FSU Office of Research, other university departments, and sponsors. Effectively coordinates research activities of the COM and fosters collaboration with university departments and with federal, state, and private partners. Liaises with principal investigators, the FSU Office of Research, and sponsors to facilitate receipt of awards.
Maintains knowledge of common sponsor submission policies and familiarity with submittal systems. Creates and maintains proposal files and compiles information for database entries on contract and grant activity as well as other office activities that are tracked for various reporting purposes. - Develops and presents pre-award training to COM faculty, staff, and students. Coordinates communication to departments regarding Final date to receive applicationss, new industry standards, FSU and COM pre-award policy and process changes, and Federal guidelines relating to pre-award. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Participates in COM Pre-Post meetings, SRA training opportunities, and sponsor or industry related training opportunities.
- Coordinates with COM Research Accounting to facilitate contract and grant transfers, assist with reporting activities, and complete shared tasks.
- Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience.
- Position requires successful completion of the eSPEAR Certification series within the first 6 months from start date.

Salary RangeAnticipated starting salary: $58,500 – $62,063.
