We are looking for a dedicated dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast‑paced culinary environment. The dishwasher’s duties include removing soiled plates and flatware from tables, washing them thoroughly, restocking items, unloading delivery trucks, helping prepare cook stations, cleaning appliances and machines, emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, and other duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service‑oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- Has thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required, according to hotel standards.
- Maintains kitchen in a clean and organized manner to facilitate high‑volume production.
- Labels and stocks all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
- Measures ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
- Prepares cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other prep.
- Sets up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Undertakes basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
- Prepares simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
- Maintains a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Ensures that all food and other items are stored properly.
- Complies with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
- Completes necessary food and station preparation prior to the opening of the restaurant to ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently during operating hours.
- Prepares and displays buffet food items according to hotel standards.
- Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products.
- Follows recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
- Bakes, grills, steams, and boils meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.
- Maintains a clean, healthy, and safe working area and is aware of all sanitary practices.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of dishwashing or kitchen experience required; hospitality industry preferred.
- Has ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Can read, write, and speak effectively in English to communicate with guests and team members.
- Has knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
- Can work with computers and has good knowledge of operating software preferred.
- Can multi‑task and is detail oriented.
- Is a team player.
