This role is a key position within Global Security (GS) at HII, supporting mission‑ready warfighters through high‑integrity Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety, Health, and Environmental Management practices.

Base Pay Range

$70,768.00/yr – $/yr

Job Description

The Health And Safety Analyst 3 assists management in establishing, developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. The analyst provides guidance to the Program Management Office (PMO) for site‑level implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management system safety programs. The analyst supervises and directs site Quality Assurance and Safety Evaluators at East Coast sites.

Job Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the NITE Quality Assurance/Safety, Health and Environmental Operations Manager.
  • Provides guidance to the PMO for site‑level implementation of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management system safety programs.
  • Writes professional reports, business correspondence, and technical procedures.
  • Monitors all aspects of contract performance against established metrics and enforces compliance with safety rules, procedures, policies, government and OSHA regulations.
  • Supports the NITE Quality Assurance/Safety, Health and Environmental Operations Manager in establishing, developing, implementing and maintaining an effective QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Assists in planning, establishing, developing, implementing and maintaining an approved Quality Manual to ensure compliance in all QMS elements.
  • Acts as the focal point for all project safety inspections, audits, assessments, reporting, and safety analysis program.
  • Provides status reports, CDRLs and ad‑hoc reports to customers in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Conducts in‑depth audits of each QMS element to assure effective mission accomplishment.
  • Participates in or conducts technical or special inspections as required.
  • Provides support for the Government’s Quality & Safety Audits.
  • Coordinates the development/revision of Quality and Safety Tier I and II Procedures, Plans, and Manuals and assists sites in developing Work Instructions and SOPs.
  • Provides direction to site managers in all areas of quality assurance and compliance with the SOW, Quality Manual and Safety protocols.
  • Provides supervision for NITE East Coast Ranges Quality Assurance/Safety Evaluators.
Additional Duties
  • Approve timecards and leave requests as needed.
  • Implement scheduling changes as required.
  • Participate in the employee performance evaluation process.
  • Participate in the interview process for new hires.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years relevant quality experience with bachelor's degree in related field, or 3 years with master’s, or 0 years with PhD/Juris Doctor, or 9 years with High School diploma.
  • Valid state Driver’s License.
  • Government Secret Clearance (current).
  • Proximity to an East Coast Navy Range.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Training.
  • 2 years experience in auditing occupational safety practice.
  • 30‑hour OSHA Training.
  • Experience with implementing ISO 9001:2008/2015 certification into a program.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of word‑processing and integrated software applications.
  • Organizational and detail‑oriented skills.
  • Familiarity with and ability to stay current with industry safety standards.
Preferred Requirements
  • 3+ years as a QASE at a NITE site.
  • Co‑located with an East Coast NITE site.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Master’s degree in quality, business, or safety.
  • Expert user of NITE IEMS systems (Maximo, SharePoint, Confluence, RIMS).
Physical Requirements

May require working in industrial or shipboard environments. Not generally required to lift more than 40 pounds. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data or observing task teams.
