Theater of the Sea Veterinary Assistants assist the Veterinarian and Curators in caring for Theater of the Sea’s resident animals in accordance with the Program of Veterinary Care. This includes collecting and analyzing samples, performing exams, and extensive clerical data entry and reporting. Theater of the Sea’s collection of animals include bottlenose dolphins, California sea lions, nurse sharks, southern stingrays, American alligators, and several species of crocodiles, sea turtles, and tropical fish.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Degree in related field (biological science, veterinary technology, etc.)
- Experience with animals (veterinary, zoo/aquarium, etc.)
- SCUBA certification
- Veterinary Technician certification
- Medical insurance
