Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Staffing
Three Post Anesthesia Care Units located at the main Sarasota campus. PACU is a high acuity, fast paced department recovering over 100 surgeries a day. We are looking for nurses with critical care experience, great communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions while caring for patients who are recovering from anesthesia. We care for patients of all ages, with surgeries ranging from ambulatory surgery to critically ill patients.

Experience
Must have one year experience in in-patient PACU, ER, or ICU.

Shifts
Rotating hours 16:00-04:30 with call till 7 am and 19:00-07:00 on weekends

Salary Details
Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $34.10, max of salary range is $52.90. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

Required Qualifications

  • Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
  • Require previous PACU, ER, or ICU experience.
  • Require Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of hire.
  • Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support
BLS:
Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
