Cardiac Surgery ICU Registered Nurse RN CSICU

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery ICU Registered Nurse (CSICU RN) to provide high-acuity care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a fast-paced intensive care environment.

This role requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to perform rapid assessments, and confidence managing complex cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions.

• Provide direct, high-acuity care to cardiac surgery ICU patients.

• Perform continuous assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition.

• Administer vasoactive drips, cardiac medications, and critical therapies as ordered.

• Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring privacy and clear communication.

• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, and recovery expectations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to support optimal outcomes.

• Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.

• Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

• Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU or PCU experience.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• ACLS certification (required within 6 months of hire).

• NIHSS Stroke Certification (required within 30 days).

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• CCRN certification (must be obtained within 2 years if not already certified).

• Cardiac surgery or cardiovascular ICU experience strongly preferred.
