Naph Care is seeking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of medical professionals in the Pasco County Detention Center in Land O Lakes, Florida
.
As a Correctional CNA
, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, etc.
This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

ResponsibilitiesAs a CNA
, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:
- Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history
- Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
- Perform routine procedures under established protocols (to include but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, dressing changes and wound cultures)
- Documenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditions
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Providing basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructions
- Observing and reporting changes in patients' physical or mental health to nurses
Requirements / Qualifications
- CNA Certification - Completion of an accredited CNA training program and passing a state-approved competency exam
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Be able to obtain CPR and first aid certification, may be required
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
