Position: Weekend Nurse Practitioner (Skilled Nursing)
Location: Englewood

Nurse Practitioner (Skilled Nursing)

We are seeking a skilled practitioner to lead internal medicine services at our Skilled Nursing Facility during weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Major Responsibilities
  • Act as the facility’s leading provider of internal medicine services on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians to reduce weekend hospitalizations.
  • Work with the full patient population—short- and long-term residents— with the assistance of nursing staff and guidance from medical directors and attending physicians.
  • Evaluate new admission visits, coordinate discharge visits, and assess patients with changes in condition.
  • Provide Advanced Care Planning.
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments under protocol for acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
  • Communicate with attending physicians and/or specialists regarding patient care.

Qualifications
  • Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) with a Florida license.
  • Active license and DEA number.
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and their loved ones.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership experience with emphasis on teamwork in a healthcare setting.
  • Master’s degree required.
