Onsite- 3 days a week, 12 hr shifts
7am - 7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am (30 mIn unpaid lunch)
- Ability to pass a level 2 fingerprinting
- Must have a valid drivers license to transport patients to off campus hospitals or doctor appointments
- Must have a current State of Florida Registered Nurse license
- Will accept another Compact State Nursing License
- Clinical experience working as an RN in a psychiatric facility
- Must have current American Heart Association CPR certification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
* Must hold unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse.
* One year of acute care or two years of clinical nursing experience.
* Must be CPR certified through the American Heart Association
* Must be able to complete full orientation at time of hire.
* Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion.
Is the candidate resume up to date? Does it include at least 7 years of complete work history with an explanation for all gaps in employment? Is your candidate able to attend 1 full week of new employee orientation (Monday - Friday) 8am - 4:30pm? WORK ENVIORNMENT:
This is a State of Florida Psychiatric Hospital which operates 24/7, 7 days a week. It currently has 223 buildings on campus with a capacity of 1,334 patients. Some patients as young as 13 yrs old. The hospital's current Administration Building is on the National Register of Historic Places. CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying supervisor when necessary.
* Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outside sources.
* Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within their scope of practice as defined by Florida law.
* Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication and report to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment.
* Prepare paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments.
* Coordinate residents’ appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as need for resident movement to and from the unit.
* Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law and notifying supervisor for further assistance.
* Complete incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility.
