- Dedicated to CT Surgery, in collaboration with the surgical team and others, participate in surgical patients’ perioperative assessments.
- Assist surgeons (under direction/supervision of the same) during surgical or invasive operative procedures.
- Participate in postoperative rounds and treatments; evaluate patients’ progress toward obtaining desired outcomes.
- Assess patients’ and/or family members’ knowledge level; provide appropriate education to same.
- Perform miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

- Associate degree in nursing.
- Successful completion of a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program accredited by the Association of peri Operative Registered Nurses (AORN).
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Two (2) years of perioperative registered nursing experience.
- Two (2) years of perioperative first assistance experience.
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certified instructor.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential from AORN.
- Registered Nurse Assistant at Surgery (RNAS-C) credential from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC).
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) credential from NASC.
