Nonprofit Marketing and Communications Specialist

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, onsite in Tallahassee, FL. The role includes flex time for after‑hours events.

Annual salary ranging from $47,250 to $52,500, plus paid time off.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience.
• Four years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
• Ability to work onsite in Tallahassee, FL.
• Willingness to attend events after standard business hours (flex time is available).

The Marketing and Communications Specialist supports Goodwood Museum & Gardens by developing, implementing, and managing strategic marketing and communication initiatives. The role enhances the visibility, reputation, and engagement of the organization through digital and traditional media, promoting programs, events, and initiatives with high energy and creativity.

Marketing/Communications

• Promote the museum, its programming, and events across digital, social, print, and broadcast media.
• Maintain an events calendar and update community calendars as needed.
• Write press releases and news articles about Goodwood programming and projects.
• Manage social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and email newsletters.
• Oversee the organization’s website, Google AdWords, and other online accounts.
• Assist the Executive Director and Development Director with membership and donor recruitment and record‑keeping.

Design

• Manage Goodwood’s brand across all marketing and fundraising materials.
• Design flyers, web materials, social media posts, and special event collateral.
• Collaborate with a design firm for large‑scale projects when required.

Programming

• Assist the Executive Director and Director of Rentals & Special Events in implementing existing programs and creating new ones.
• Coordinate with instructors and artists on behalf of Goodwood.
• Serve as the on‑site contact for Goodwood‑sponsored events and maintain event records.
• Schedule and oversee Event Assistants for wellness and cultural programming, including evenings.

Facility Rentals

• Promote rental facility availability, emphasizing mid‑week bookings.
• Support the Director of Rentals & Special Events in executing rental operations.

• Proficiency with design software (Canva, Adobe InDesign).
• Experience using Mail Chimp, META Suite, Little Green Light, and Eventbrite.
• Strong knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Suite.
• Photography and photo‑editing skills.
• Videography experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
