What you'll be contributing
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Assist production employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires.
  • May be required to work overtime, rotating shift schedule, unsociable hour shifts and respond to all callouts.
  • Monitor process equipment lube levels, operating conditions and report any perceived problems.
  • Report any housekeeping or material spill problems in the plant and take necessary actions to prevent and rectify any potential problems.
  • Monitor and maintain all material flows to ensure quality of products within specifications.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and report any visual emissions.
  • Work closely with the Control Room Operator to ensure all communications are accurate and complete.
  • Operate all process equipment at the highest production level within permitting limits.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor and Control Room Operator in all aspects of the production process, including the starting and stopping of all process equipment.
  • Workplace inspections and housekeeping.
  • First Aid care, accident investigation and/or reporting, and other emergency issues as needed.
  • Complete all required departmental data logging and reports.
  • Check objects, work, procedures – checking equipment for correct operation, lube levels, material availability, continuous material flows, and product quality.
  • Analyze, integrate, and interpret numerical information; diagnose problems in a physical process or machine; critically examine information for accuracy or quality; summarize numerical and verbal information; identify faults in equipment.
  • Inform and report – provide spoken information about a problem or issue, report problems to supervisor, give instructions by radio or telephone, contact a manager or supervisor for authorization, make verbal reports to a supervisor or manager, and brief individuals on tasks or situations.
  • Collect information – watch an operation or process to detect a problem, note danger or warning symbols, note unusual occurrences, listen to verbal reports from subordinates, listen to verbal instructions from superiors, ask questions to establish required information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need
  • High school graduation or equivalent (required).
  • Minimum 1 month of job‑related formal training.
  • Minimum 1 year of job‑related work experience.
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities and must meet qualifications required for this position.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Volunteer readily; undertake self‑development activities; seek increased responsibilities; take independent actions and calculated risks; look for and take advantage of opportunities; ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Mechanical, welding and machinist skills, preferred.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and safe work practices.
  • Follow all department timeline requirements.
  • Contact supervisor and/or manager as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain all material flows to ensure the quality of the products within specifications.
  • Serve as a role model in leadership, teamwork, customer focus, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the training of new employees in the skills and procedures required to perform a task.
