ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Electronics Technician, Maintenance II maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, operates, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as high-speed cameras, and ancillary equipment. Experience operating and maintaining Airborne separation cameras, GoPros, OWLSS cameras and updating cameras controllers is a plus. Experience working offshore on the GRATV is a plus. These functions may take place in laboratory, field, or Flight Line environments.

Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Receives work assignments from the supervisor or more qualified technicians.
  • The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturer manuals or similar documents.
  • Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, selecting tools, testing instruments and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • Finished work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • May be required to assist senior level technicians in performing software adaptations, computer problem solving, and repair or perform minor actions without higher‑level assistance.
  • May be required to provide guidance and training to lower‑level technicians.
  • Required to perform with limited instructions or supervision.
  • Work may require operating in close proximity to aircraft including cockpit.
  • Planning placement, configuring and programming multi‑camera arrays in preparation for mission support is required.

Job Requirements:

OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. Will perform general housekeeping and other job‑related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics with two years' experience as an Electronics Technician.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations. May be required to work offshore in all‑weather environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
