Responsibilities
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Assist production employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires.
  • Work overtime, on rotating shift schedules, unsociable hour shifts and respond to all callouts.
  • Monitor process equipment lube levels, operating conditions and report any perceived problems.
  • Report any housekeeping or material spill problems in the plant and take necessary actions to prevent and rectify any potential problems.
  • Monitor and maintain all material flows to ensure quality of products within specifications.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and report any visual emissions.
  • Work closely with the Control Room Operator to ensure all communications are accurate and complete.
  • Operate all process equipment at the highest production level within permitting limits.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor and Control Room Operator in all aspects of the production process, including the starting and stopping of all process equipment.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and housekeeping.
  • Provide First Aid care, accident investigation and/or reporting, and other emergency issues as needed.
  • Complete all required departmental data logging and reports.
  • Check Objects, Work, Procedures – check equipment for correct operation, lube levels, material availability, continuous material flows, and product quality.
  • Analyze, integrate, interpret numerical and verbal information, diagnose problems in a physical process/machine, identify equipment faults, and summarize findings.
  • Inform and report – give spoken information about problems/issues, report to supervisors, give instructions by radio or telephone, contact managers for authorization, and brief individuals on tasks or situations.
  • Collect information – watch operations to detect problems, note danger or warning symbols, note unusual occurrences, listen to verbal reports, and ask questions for required information.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 month of job related formal training.
  • Minimum 1 year of job related work experience.
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Willingness to learn, training will be provided.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities and meet qualification requirements.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Volunteer readily; undertake self‑development activities; seek increased responsibilities; take independent actions and calculated risks; look for and take advantage of opportunities; ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Mechanical, welding and machinist skills, preferred.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and safe work practices.
  • Follow all department timeline requirements.
  • Contact supervisor and/or manager as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain all material flows to ensure product quality within specifications.
