General Services Administrator –
This advertisement is for a Selected Exempt Service (SES) position located at Central Office in the Office of Administration.
Salary will be within the above listed salary range in accordance with the current pay policy.
SpecificDuties & Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible for administration and oversight of the general services functions, activities, and programs within the Department of Corrections including Central Office building management, records management, public records production, mailroom operations, surplus operations, parking, and Central Office employee identification cards.
Building Management- Serve as the liaison to the Department of Management services for building maintenance, janitorial services and Department-initiated facility improvement projects
- Oversee and/or manage space utilization projects for all Central Office program areas
- Serve as the contract manager for secure and controlled access to Central Office buildings
- Manage the public records team overseeing all aspect of public records production in compliance with all Florida statutes and rules.
- Manage the records management team overseeing all aspects of a records management program in compliance with all Florida statutes and rules.
- Manage and execute all Central Office Emergency Preparedness procedures and responses.
- The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing emergency response during and after scheduled work hours.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the work activities of subordinates. Participation in emergency response is a requirement of this position.
- Mailroom: manage the Central Office mail center
- Print Services: manage print production and multi-function device management for Central Office
- Parking: manage parking contracts and assignments for Central Office employees and visitors
- Employee IDs: manage production of Central Office employee identification cards
- Surplus Property: direct the statewide surplus property team in the disposal Department equipment
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations and staff as required.
- Communicate clearly and frequently with staff to ensure the mission and tasks are clear.
- Provide general administrative duties, including the writing of employee performance evaluations and reviews of work-related performance.
- Addresses employee performance issues promptly and uses corrective action to resolve performance problems.
- Provides recommendations for training and continued training/education.
- Trains and evaluates employees on job safety, proper care and use of state-owned equipment, and periodic review to reinforce FDC procedures. Ensure subordinates receive and complete the required training.
