Overview

Meadow Oaks Golf Club is seeking an experienced, hands-onGolf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of agronomy at our 18-hole facility. The course features Jones Dwarf Bermuda grass greens and a committed ownership group that is actively investing in the property. Position

Summary

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all golf course maintenance activities, with a focus on delivering consistent playing conditions and an exceptional golf experience. The superintendent provides leadership to the maintenance team, manages all turf and irrigation systems, and works closely with management on budgeting, capital needs, and agronomic programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Jones Dwarf Bermuda grass greens to high standards
  • Develop and implement agronomic programs (fertility, pest control, over seeding, aerification, cultural practices)
  • Monitor soil, moisture, and plant health for optimal conditions on greens, tees, fairways, and rough
  • Oversee irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, scheduling, and repairs
  • Recruit, train, and supervise the maintenance team; promote safety and accountability
  • Manage daily and weekly task scheduling to ensure efficiency and course conditioning
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure safe, proper equipment operation
  • Oversee chemical storage, fuel systems, and maintenance facility standards
  • Assist in preparing and managing the annual agronomy budget
  • Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications, fertilizer usage, water management, and compliance
  • Communicate regularly with management and ownership on course conditions, staffing, and project updates
  • Support capital projects and long-term course improvements
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related field
  • 5+ years of prior experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
  • Strong knowledge of warm-season turf management, especially Bermuda grass greens
  • Proven team leadership and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of irrigation systems and equipment operation
  • Florida pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
