Water Quality Manager
Metro Lagoons is growing fast, and we’re looking for experienced water quality leaders to grow with us. This is a hands‑on, field‑based management role for someone who knows water systems, leads from the front, and takes pride in keeping a world‑class lagoon safe, clean, and guest‑ready.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the water quality team responsible for lagoon cleanliness and safety.
- Make daily labor and expense decisions.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members.
- Monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct evaluations.
- Address performance issues consistently and professionally, including discipline when needed.
- Ensure all team members maintain required licenses and certifications.
- Maintain lagoon water chemistry, sanitation, flow, and filtration to required standards.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on pumps, filters, circulation systems, feeders, and sanitation equipment.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate preventative maintenance logs, procedures, and checklists.
- Manage monthly inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Order all lagoon‑related supplies and materials.
- Coordinate and work with vendors involved in lagoon cleaning and maintenance.
- Supervise non‑water‑related maintenance projects as assigned.
- Inspect operations daily and address issues in real time.
- Monitor key metrics and resolve problems directly in the field.
- Serve as a visible leader in the lagoon environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or degree‑seeking) preferred.
- 3–4+ years of experience in water quality, pool, aquatic, or related operations.
- Strong understanding of water chemistry, filtration, and sanitation systems.
- Comfortable working in the water and outdoors daily.
- Able to swim and work in the lagoon for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to pass required water certification within first 90 days.
- CPO or similar certification preferred.
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug/background screening.
- 8–10 hour shifts, 5 days per week.
- Morning and evening shifts.
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
- Both weekend days required during peak season.
